Description

American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a high-acuity stepdown unit requiring 1 year of ICU experience and a NJ or compact RN license.

Details

• High acuity Stepdown Unit (SDU) setting within a hospital
• 12-hour AM shifts, 7a-7p, three days per week
• On-call responsibilities required
• Floating as needed, including to a sister hospital nearby
• Uses EPIC EMR for charting

Requirements

• Active NJ or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred
• EPIC charting experience preferred

Additional Information

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments across all age groups from pediatric to geriatric
• Deliver competent clinical care and support emergency procedures and equipment use
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation, including patient education and progress notes
• Uphold professionalism, confidentiality, and HIPAA guidelines in all patient interactions
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals, Universal Protocol, and safe patient handling techniques
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative assessments and patient education as needed
• Prioritize patient care based on condition and changing needs
• Local candidates accepted at a different pay rate
• Returning travelers may stay on assignment up to one year from their initial start date, followed by a required break before starting a new assignment
