Registered Nurse - Cardiac Operating Room

The Adult Cardiac Operating Room specializes in managing a diverse range of cardiac surgical procedures. This includes operations such as CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting), TAVI (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation), and advanced heart failure management techniques, including VAD (Ventricular Assist Devices), ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation), artificial heart placements, and heart transplants. Our team adopts a multidisciplinary approach to deliver high-quality care to patients across all age groups.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently scrub and circulate complex adult cardiac surgical cases.
• Handle CABG and structural heart procedures, including Bentall procedures.
• Participate in minimally invasive surgical approaches, such as Mini Aortic Valve Replacement.
• Manage cases related to heart failure, including Impella devices.
• Assist in transplant surgeries and TAVI/TAVR procedures, experience preferred but not mandatory.

Job Requirements

• Active RN License in New York.
• A minimum of two years of relevant nursing experience.
• Operating room experience in a Level 1 trauma center is preferred.
• Ability to both circulate and scrub during surgical procedures.
• Telemetry experience is preferred; must have ACLS certification.

Certifications

• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association only).
• Current ACLS certification (American Heart Association only).
