Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department serving a diverse patient population ranging from minor to severe diagnoses, including trauma, burn, and stroke cases
• Manage a patient assignment of 3–4 patients, with flexibility to adjust based on department volume; Rapid Medical Evaluation area assignments may include up to 6 patients
• Administer and monitor all common emergency department drips and medications
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including ER techs, charge nurses, and respiratory therapy to deliver coordinated patient care
• Document patient care accurately using Epic electronic health records
• Adhere to unit scheduling requirements including every-other-weekend and every-other-holiday rotations

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Emergency Room nursing experience
• Ability to pass a drug screen; facility maintains a drug-free campus policy
• Comfort caring for a broad patient mix including geriatric, trauma, burn, stroke, and pediatric populations

Preferred Experience / Skills

• TNCC or TNS certification
• Experience working in a Level I Trauma Center, burn center, or comprehensive stroke center environment
• Familiarity with Epic electronic health records
