The Koch Internship Program (KIP) is a paid experiential learning program run by Stand Together Fellowships that offers professional development, leadership training, and meaningful work experience at non-profits tackling some of our nation's most pressing policy challenges all over the United States. Early-career professionals including undergraduate/graduate/law students and recent graduates are encouraged to apply. Eligible candidates will be geographically located in and authorized to work in the United States through the duration of the program. TPAF also educates the public about government transparency and openness in the United States and around the world.

About the role

The Taxpayers Protection Alliance Foundation (TPAF) is seeking a highly motivated part-time intern to join our communications team. Candidates should have an interest in economic and regulatory policy areas now being debated in Congress and within the executive branch as well as a strong commitment to free-market economics and limited government.

An ideal candidate will have strong writing skills. Previous experience in digital media is preferred but not required.

This role will be part-time, in person, in Washington, D.C.

• Drafting creative copy for the organization’s X, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube accounts, including rapid response content for breaking news;
• Filming, editing, and producing short-form video content for social media;
• Advising team on up-and-coming social media trends and developing creative ways to incorporate them into TPAF content to maximize reach and engagement;
• Creating graphics and other visual content for TPAF’s social media platforms, campaigns, events, and other materials;
• Attending various events in Washington, D.C. to promote the TPAF brand, capture content, and assist with live-tweeting;
• Assisting the VP of Communications with press releases and media advisories as needed;
• Updating press contacts for the organization, ensuring state and national broadcast and print pitching lists are accurate and complete

Stand Together Fellowships pays participants a stipend of either $7,500 for full-time participants working approximately 32 hours per week at the partner organization, or $5,500 for part-time participants working approximately 24 hours per week at the partner organization. Attending the entirety of the online and on-site KIP programming is required for both full and part-time participants.
