Anesthesia Tech at Rochester General Hospital. Hours per week: 40. Schedule: Monday-Friday rotating shifts: 6:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m., 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m., 9:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m., 11:00 a.m.-7:30 p.m., 12:30 p.m.-9:00 p.m., 1:30 p.m.-10:00 p.m., and 9:00 p.m.-5:30 a.m. Weekend rotation includes: Friday: 10:00 p.m.-7:00 a.m., Saturday: 7:00 p.m.-7:00 a.m., Sunday: 7:00 a.m.-7:30 p.m. Schedule also includes one additional 12-hour shift and two 8-hour shifts per week. Once trained, required to work at least two holidays, including one 12-hour shift and one 4-hour shift.

Summary: As an Anesthesia Tech, your excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality control helps you to manage anesthesia equipment and supplies, while assisting with daily functions of the Anesthesia Department.

Responsibilities:

• Equipment Management. Maintain all anesthesia equipment; manage quality control by recognizing malfunctioning equipment and taking necessary action; perform minor equipment repairs and preventive maintenance
• Procedure Assistance. Prepare anesthesia equipment and supplies for use; calibrate and check equipment accurately before each use; assist with procedures as assigned; stock anesthesia carts with extremely high-risk medications (may handle meds, sharps and syringes); maintain a clean, safe and adequately supplied workroom
• Maintains Ideal Working Operations. Contribute to maintenance of supply inventory, ensure there are adequate levels of available supplies and complete monthly pharmacy inspections.

Physical Requirements: Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

Pay Range: $18.10 - $20.00 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, clinical licensure date, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
