Computer Information Systems Instructor - Cybersecurity Emphasis (RCC) - Extended Riverside Community College District, Riverside Employment Type Full‑time, 10‑month faculty position. Salary Annual salary range: $86,023 – $132,539 (Column C, Step 1 to Column H, Step 6). Application Deadline Applications must be received by 10‑21‑2025, 8:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time. Responsibilities Deliver lecture and laboratory instruction in computer information systems, networking, and cybersecurity courses. Maintain department servers utilizing Linux/Unix operating systems that support coursework. Hold weekly office hours and complete 24 hours of flexible credit activities and seminars. Conduct courses in various modes (campus, hybrid, hyflex, online) and at off‑site locations, including evenings and weekends. Participate in outcomes assessment work and curriculum development. Fulfill faculty workload expectations—including teaching, preparation, student evaluation, office hours, committee work, program development, and student activities—totaling 42.5 hours weekly. Engage in institutional service activities and department‐wide decision making. Maintain professional conduct and ethical standards. Advising student organizations and co‑curricular activities. Oversee National Centers of Excellence designation‑related activities, assessments, and reports. Contribute to the maintenance and update of the Cyber Security Center website. Collaborate with the Apprenticeship program regarding cyber‑related apprentices. Qualifications Master’s degree in computer information systems, cyber security, computer science, computer engineering, management information systems, or a related accredited field. At least two years of successful teaching experience in computer information systems courses. Preferred experience in networking, cybersecurity, forensics, VMware, virtual images, information assurance, network design, and security. Preferred cloud computing and scripting/automation experience. Preferred experience with AI and machine learning for automated incident response and infrastructure deployment. Licenses / Certifications Preferential certifications include CCNA, CyberOPS, CISSP, CEH, CHFI, CompTIA Security+, A+, LPIC‑1, CompTIA Linux+, or similar.
