Your future starts here.PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:The Specialist Project Controls is Responsible for budgeting, forecasting, monitoring, and reporting Real Estate and Industrial Development performance metrics. Supports revenue, capital, and expense targets through project tracking, financial analysis, reporting, data management, and account reconciliation.POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:Monitor project, revenue, and agreement performance against budgets and forecastsIdentify, analyze, and report variances to targets and objectivesSupport development of project budgets, schedules, and revenue plansMaintain clear and accurate forecast and performance reportingManage SAP and BPC data entry and provide timely reporting supportPerform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliationsPromote best practices in project controls, monitoring, and reportingPOSITION REQUIREMENTS:Post-secondary education in Business, Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or Project Management is considered a strong assetMinimum 5 years of combined experience in one or more of the following areas: financial planning, accounting, engineering, project management, project controls, construction, and railway operationsStrong negotiation and conflict management skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and align on common objectivesKnowledge of financial analysis, including investment returns, commercial terms, operating margins, accounting reconciliation, and investment evaluationProficiency in SAP, BPC, and Excel, including accurate data entry, data queries, and analysis of large data setsExperience with project scoping, planning, estimating, scheduling, budgeting, and portfolio executionAbility to set priorities, manage deadlines, and deliver work efficiently and effectively in a dynamic environmentWHAT CPKC HAS TO OFFER:Flexible and competitive benefits packageCompetitive company pension and/or retirement plansEmployee share purchase planPerformance incentive planAnnual fitness subsidyPart-time studies programPRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:Drug Testing This position is subject to a negative company drug test.Background InvestigationCriminal history checkEducation verificationProfessional referencesBECOMING A RAILROADER:As an employee with a North American presence, the possibility does exist that the location of your position may be changed based on organizational requirements.Management Conductor ProgramBecoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC.
