Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Lead Software Development Manager to design, build, and operate high-throughput, cloud-enabled platforms that transform complex data into meaningful outcomes. This is a player/coach role, where you will lead a team while actively contributing to development (20-30% hands-on coding). You'll guide architecture, mentor engineers, and drive delivery across the full software development lifecycle, helping scale systems that have real-world impact.


Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and technical excellence
• Contribute directly to software development (20-30%), including coding, debugging, and design
• Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance applications and services
• Participate in full SDLC activities: requirements gathering, architecture, development, testing, deployment, and support
• Guide architectural decisions using modern patterns (MVC, MVP, MVVM) and principles (SOLID, SOA)
• Develop and enforce engineering best practices, standards, and processes
• Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders to align technical solutions with business objectives
• Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for production systems as needed

Requirements

• 10+ years of hands-on software development experience
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing engineering teams
• Proven experience in a player/coach capacity , balancing leadership with active coding
• Strong expertise in modern development stacks: React, TypeScript/JavaScript, Node.js, C#, and .NET
• Experience building and consuming RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs
• Deep understanding of software architecture patterns ( MVC, MVP, MVVM ), microservices, and secure application design
• Strong knowledge of SOLID principles and service-oriented architecture
• Experience with databases such as MongoDB
• Familiarity with cloud platforms ( AWS or equivalent )

Bonus Skills

• Experience in high-throughput or data-intensive systems
• Background in healthcare, life sciences, or regulated environments
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code
• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
