Health Actuary

Key Responsibilities Perform as the primary or secondary consultant on Health Practice projects related to financial/actuarial modeling, pricing/rating, underwriting, and other actuarial work. Act as a technical resource on Health and Welfare design, financing, and managed care issues, providing actuarial perspective to colleagues; participate in training and mentoring initiatives for junior staff with emphasis on modeling techniques. Build and maintain effective collaborative relationships with colleagues, actuaries, consultants from other practices, and client staff. Support actuarial consulting projects by reviewing and analyzing data, establishing or reviewing actuarial models, training and developing Health Practice personnel, and supporting new business development efforts. Key Requirements Actuary with 6+ years of health actuarial experience, preferably 7–10 years of health and welfare managed care experience within consulting or professional service environment. Holds an ASA or FSA credential; candidates with 5+ SOA courses considered at Actuarial Associate level. Demonstrated project management experience and skills. Effective communicator (oral/written). Collaborative work ethic. Compensation and Benefits (Summary) Salary range: $101,500–$130,000 plus discretionary performance bonus.
