Radiologic Technologist

Overview Avera Health is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Radiologic Technologist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team within our hospital and clinic network. In this role, you will perform high-quality diagnostic radiographic imaging examinations to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating patients across a variety of care settings. Working closely with radiologists, nurses, and other members of the care team, you will position patients, operate radiologic equipment, select appropriate technical factors, and ensure accurate, timely imaging while maintaining strict adherence to radiation safety standards and infection-control protocols. Patient Care As a Radiologic Technologist you will greet and prepare patients, explain procedures in a reassuring and respectful manner, and provide age-appropriate care for diverse patient populations. You will verify patient identity, review orders for accuracy and appropriateness, and follow established imaging protocols to produce clear, diagnostic-quality images. You will be responsible for monitoring patients during procedures, recognizing and reporting any changes in condition, and collaborating with the care team to support excellent clinical outcomes. Equipment & Documentation This position includes responsibility for maintaining and calibrating imaging equipment, managing digital images within PACS, and accurately documenting procedures in the electronic health record. You will follow departmental policies, comply with all regulatory and accreditation standards, and participate in quality assurance, radiation dose monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient safety and image quality. Work Schedule Flexibility to work rotating shifts, evenings, weekends, or on-call as needed may be required to support patient care needs.
