Student Advanced Level Requisition ID: req37500 Working Title: Mattox/Annex Lab Technician Pay: 17.00 Hourly Campus: Main - Albuquerque, NM Department: Art Art History Gen Admin (595B) Employment Type: Student Employment Student Type: Work-Study Status: Non-Exempt Background Check Required For Best Consideration Date: 8/7/2026 The Mattox / Annex studio tech responsibilities are as follows; While working ensuring safe practices are being followed by all users Perform shop maintenance tasks such as emptying sawdust bins, cleaning sinks, vacuuming shops, sweeping, refilling paper towel dispensers and other tasks as needed, painting, assisting with studio turn overs. Assisting Lab manager with equipment maintenance. Other shop related tasks as assigned by lab manager Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM, Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count), and if Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress. Available to work weekends Work study approved Are a current or past sculpture, ceramics, print making, A&E Grad student Have experience working in a metal, wood, ceramics, print making or fabrication shops Possess a strong understanding of safe practices working in multiple studio types and with divers equipment The University of New Mexico is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
