Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night and Day Shifts Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience required License: RN license required Certifications: AHA BLS and ACLS required Must-Have: Experience and knowledge of NextStage CVVH machine required Telemetry test must be passed prior to starting Description: This position involves working in a dynamic cardiovascular intensive care unit. The role requires day and night shifts, on a rotational basis. Every other weekend and some holidays will be required. No call is required for this position. Consideration will be given to a 4x12 scheduling option if preferred. Blocked weekends scheduling may also be available for the traveler. Experience in cardiothoracic surgery and/or acuity adaptable areas is preferred. Travelers must have the ability to manage various cardiothoracic conditions. The unit specializes in caring for patients requiring specialized care for cardiac and thoracic surgeries, heart and lung transplants, and various medical devices. Staff assignments may change frequently due to patient admissions and transfers. Nurses will typically care for 1-2 patients, with potential for 3 general care patients if acuity is low and staffing resources are limited. The unit is supported by interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, respiratory services, and rapid response teams. Emergency procedures will frequently be taking place in the unit. Staff are expected to deliver care with a commitment to meeting patient and family needs.
