About the Role As a Fine Dining Server at Charlie Gitto's, you'll deliver the kind of polished, attentive service that turns first-time guests into regulars. You'll guide diners through our menu, recommend wine pairings, anticipate needs before they're voiced, and execute service standards with precision. This isn’t a casual serving job — it's a craft, and we’re looking for servers who treat it that way. What We’re Looking For Has 1–3 years of recent fine dining or upscale restaurant experience Knows their way around classic service standards (proper pacing, crumbing, course timing, wine service) Has strong working knowledge of food, wine, and spirits — and is hungry to learn more Carries themselves with professionalism, polish, and warmth Reads tables well and adjusts service style to match the guest Thrives in a high-volume environment without sacrificing attention to detail What You’ll Be Doing Delivering attentive, knowledgeable service from greeting through farewell Guiding guests through the menu with confident recommendations and pairings Executing proper steps of service — order accuracy, course timing, table maintenance Presenting and serving wine using established fine dining standards Anticipating guest needs and handling special requests with grace Coordinating with the kitchen, sommelier, and management to deliver a seamless experience Maintaining a polished section and impeccable side work Handling payments accurately and professionally Mentoring newer team members and contributing to a strong floor culture Requirements 1–3 years of fine dining or upscale restaurant serving experience (required) Strong knowledge of wine, spirits, and Italian cuisine preferred Excellent communication, memory, and multitasking skills Professional appearance and demeanor Ability to stand, walk, and carry trays for extended periods Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays Must be at least 18 years old (or 21+ to serve alcohol per Missouri law) Food Handler's and/or alcohol service certification a plus What We Offer Competitive base pay ($7.50/hour) with strong tips at one of St. Louis's most established fine dining restaurants Flexible part-time and full-time scheduling A professional, team-oriented service culture Ongoing training in wine, spirits, and Italian cuisine Clear path to lead server, captain, or management roles A chance to work at a true St. Louis institution #J-18808-Ljbffr Coma Coffee Roasters
