Job Details Job Location: Fine Foods - Hallandale Beach, FL 33009-2175 Position Type: Full Time Job Shift: Day Company Overview: Mr Greens, through Verdi Fine Foods, operates a protein processing and distribution facility in Hallandale Beach, Florida. Our operation supports customers across the hospitality and foodservice industries with a strong commitment to quality, food safety, service, and operational excellence. With deliveries 365 days a year, 7 days a week and multiple runs per day, Mr Greens has set the gold standard for service. The Protein Buyer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing inventory of protein products, including meat, poultry, and seafood, to support daily distribution operations. This role plays a key part in maintaining product availability, controlling costs, and ensuring product quality in a fast-paced food distribution environment. Responsibilities Source and purchase protein products (meat, poultry, seafood) based on company needs and demand forecasts Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms to ensure cost-effective purchasing Monitor market trends, pricing fluctuations, and product availability Coordinate with sales and operations teams to align purchasing with customer demand Ensure product quality, food safety, and compliance with company standards Manage inventory levels to minimize waste and shortages Resolve supply issues, shortages, or quality concerns in a timely manner Track and analyze purchasing data, margins, and performance metrics Requirement 4+ years of experience in purchasing, buying, or procurement (food industry preferred) Knowledge of protein products (meat, seafood, poultry) is highly preferred Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment handling perishable products Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems Physical Demands/ Work Environment The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
