Cost Analyst

Responsibilities As a Cost Analyst, you will perform a wide range of duties from building oral/written presentations for high ranking acquisition leaders to performing in-depth complex analyses with a high degree of quality and accuracy. You shall review, analyze, assess, and develop cost estimates for analytical studies and assessments of future concepts, existing programs, and architectures, providing insights to senior decision makers to inform and recommend acquisition and budget decisions. This includes the development, maintenance, and updating of pre-Milestone A cost estimates in support of analysis of alternatives (AoA) for SWAC architectures, issue papers/resource management decisions (RMD), Program Objective Memorandum (POM) inputs and project execution IAW DoD 5000.4-M, AFI 65-508, and Air Force Cost Risk and Uncertainty Analysis Handbook. For each cost estimate, the Cost Analyst shall assess risks and apply uncertainty to cost estimates, align Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) elements IAW MIL-STD-881, use Government-approved cost tools/software such as Launch Vehicle Cost Model (LVCM), ACE-IT, SEER, and PRICE, apply data from Government-approved published databases (e.g. USCM) and existing program actual cost data to develop data driven estimating methodologies (including both software cost estimating and hardware cost estimating methodologies) whenever possible; and document the estimates. You will also develop and apply statistical/mathematical methodologies and techniques in developing cost models (eg, cost factors, cost estimating relationships, etc). Skills Required 3-7 years of experience performing cost estimating activities for aircraft and/or spacecraft applications in the commercial, industrial, and/or military arena, which shall include duties/assignments specifically in support of space programs. Working knowledge of Automated Cost Estimating Integrated Tools (ACEIT), and Microsoft Office Suite desured. Bachelor's degree relevant to their area of expertise and desired in the following: Management, Business, Economics, Finance, and Accounting. Professional Certification such as PE, PMP, ICEAA, and EVP is not required but highly recommended. Active Secret security clearance with ability to upgrade to Top Secret is required. Understanding of mission critical aspects of acquisition and DoD space programs/projects. Knowledge of Higher Headquarters, Air Force, Space Command, processes and procedures is highly desired. Knowledge of Air Force and Space Acquisition terminology is desired. Salary Range: $60,000 - $90,000/year, DOE Education Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in math, engineering, business, or the sciences.
