Artemis is also a key enabler of Cat Financial's AI transformation strategy, embedding AI-powered capabilities into the way teams plan, deliver, and support technology solutions.About the RoleLead the design, development, and delivery of new capabilities for the Artemis platform, leveraging full stack engineering and AI technologies to transform ideas into scalable, production-ready solutions. This role partners closely with technical and business stakeholders to solve complex challenges, establish engineering best practices, drive modern software delivery through CI/CD, and ensure AI-enabled capabilities are secure, reliable, and compliant. As a senior technical leader, you will influence the platform's architecture, mentor development teams, and help shape the future of one of Caterpillar Financial's most visible technology transformation initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesLead proof-of-concept and development work for new capabilities, and partner with the Team Leader and development team to take them into productionDesign and build full stack features across React/TypeScript front ends, Python or Node.js services and APIs, and AWS cloud servicesDrive UI/UX and front-end architecture decisions so Artemis stays intuitive, consistent, and easy to use as it growsBuild AI-enabled capabilities and agent-based workflows, including prompt and context design, evaluation, and guardrails that keep them safe and reliableDesign and build integrations with enterprise systems such as Snowflake, ServiceNow, Azure DevOps, and GitHubEstablish reusable patterns, coding standards, and shared components for the platformWrite and maintain automated tests, and help build the test coverage and pipeline practices that move the team toward CI/CDSupport production deployments, and provide production support as needed: troubleshoot complex issues, lead root-cause analysis, and drive lasting fixesReview pull requests in GitHub and mentor developers, reducing key-person dependency and building depth across the teamWork with architecture and security partners to test emerging technologies, guide their implementation, and ensure solutions meet Cat Financial's standards and audit requirementsDemo new capabilities to stakeholders and turn their feedback into clear technical next stepsWhat You Bring5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including building and supporting production applicationsStrong front-end experience with React and TypeScriptStrong back-end experience building services and APIs in Python or Node.jsHands-on experience with AWS cloud services (for example serverless compute, API management, storage, and managed AI services)Experience building integrations with enterprise systems (for example Snowflake, ServiceNow, Azure DevOps, GitHub)Experience working with relational databases and REST APIsProficiency with GitHub-based workflows, including branching, pull requests, and code reviewHands-on experience building applications with generative AI, such as working with large language models, agent-based workflows, retrieval, and evaluationA track record of turning prototypes into production-ready, maintainable solutionsExperience writing automated tests and supporting release and deployment processesStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to work through ambiguous problemsClear communication with both technical and non-technical audiencesTop candidates will haveExperience delivering AI agents or LLM-based solutions in productionExperience in financial services or other regulated industries (SOX, audit, IT risk)Experience setting architecture patterns, coding standards, or reusable components for a team or platformExperience mentoring developers or serving as technical lead for a development teamExperience building automated test suites and CI/CD pipelinesExperience designing component libraries or shared UI frameworksUnderstanding of secure application development practicesExperience with workflow, low-code, or process automation platformsExperience with Agile delivery and Azure DevOpsWhat Success Looks LikeProofs of concept are proven quickly and delivered to production with the teamEstablished patterns and standards are adopted across the platformAI capabilities deliver measurable improvements to delivery workflowsAutomated test coverage grows, moving the team closer to CI/CDPlatform knowledge is shared, reducing key-person dependencyDegree RequirementA bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent experience is required.Compensation & Benefits:Summary Pay Range: $118,860.00 - $190,176.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance, and experience.
