Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (18:45–07:15) | Onsite | 13–26 Week Contracts Available

Key Responsibilities

• Provide intrapartum, high-risk antepartum, and postpartum care for obstetrical patients 16 weeks gestation and greater, as well as high-risk patients under 16 weeks
• Manage double labor assignments in a high-volume, fast-paced birthing unit averaging 20 births and 30–40 admissions per 24-hour period
• Perform sterile vaginal exams and provide immediate newborn care
• Circulate for scheduled and unscheduled Cesarean births and rescue cervical cerclage procedures
• Conduct obstetrical triage, antenatal fetal surveillance, intravenous hydration, and medication administration for outpatient procedures
• Float as needed to a high-risk special maternity care unit; work a minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule (every other weekend)

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in NC or a Compact state
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience; 3 years strongly preferred
• Prior experience in a high-volume setting with greater than 300 births per month
• Proficiency in circulating to the OR, sterile vaginal exams, and immediate newborn care
• Current BLS/BCLS certification
• Current AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification and NRP certification

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with EPIC, PYXIS, and SBAR documentation systems
• Background in high-acuity or high-risk obstetrical care environments
• Prior travel nursing experience in a comparable large, high-volume Labor and Delivery setting
