Laboratory Assistant

Laboratory Assistant Med-Pharmacology and Chemical BiologyCompletes general laboratory chores, including scheduling, stocking, cleaning, autoclaving, glasswashing, sterilization of laboratory glassware and setting up and maintaining laboratory support equipment for Department of Pharmacology and Chemical Biology as well as the Organ Pathobiology and Therapeutics Institute (OPTIn). Performs quality control testing in accordance to prescribed protocols; evaluates test results QC and maintenance of laboratory support equipment. Records all quality controls instituted to ensure test validity (calibrates and maintains laboratory equipment). Maintains conference rooms for Department of Chemical Biology and Organ Pathobiology and Therapeutics Institute, including setting up for seminars, classes, and meetings as well as working with IT Operations to ensure equipment is in working order and supplies are maintained. Departmental support including mail/deliveries, printer maintenance, office supply inventories, etc. Assists Operations team and Lab Managers as directed/needed under close supervision. Adheres to departmental safety standards in responsibly handling, processing, and testing biological materials.
