About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President, Business Attraction to lead efforts to recruit new industry, support existing employers, build strategic partnerships, and advance investment opportunities from initial contact through implementation. The role includes developing a qualified prospect pipeline, engaging corporate executives and site-selection consultants, preparing proposals, coordinating project requirements, and supporting negotiations. The Vice President will also lead employer outreach, guide and develop staff, maintain operational continuity, and strengthen relationships with business and public-sector stakeholders. Additional responsibilities include improving project execution, maintaining accurate records, preparing board materials, and supporting effective organizational operations. Candidates should have a relevant bachelor’s degree and at least five years of related experience, or equivalent education, training, and experience. Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and build corporate and public-sector relationships is required. The ideal candidate brings knowledge of business recruitment, investment attraction, site selection, and employer retention and expansion, along with strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and leadership skills. Familiarity with incentives, economic development financing, real property, public-sector processes, CRM or pipeline systems, data analysis, and standard business software is important; a related master’s degree or relevant professional certification is preferred.
