Accounting Specialist

The Accounting Specialist will support the accounting team with daily operations, including posting journal entries, processing accounts payable, reconciling corporate checking accounts, and completing other general ledger reconciliations. Primary Responsibilities Assist with implementation of specific automation initiatives within the department Complete reconciliation of ITM’s and ATM’s and work with front line to research and decide reconciling items Reconcile corporate checking accounts, resolving discrepancies Reconcile daily business and verify check deposits with corporate checking accounts Execute the accounts payable process and work with users of the AVID system Follow up on outstanding invoices with co-workers and vendors General ledger posting, reconciliation and research Research, track, and resolve accounting or documentation items including discrepancies. Perform balance sheet account reconciliations Perform revenue and expense variance analysis Other duties as listed in the job description. Qualifications/Experience Required High school or equivalent required; postgraduate education in accounting or related field preferred. One to three years of previous related experience required. Knowledge of related computer applications. Familiarity with basic accounting procedures. Intermediate knowledge of spreadsheet software Excellent typing skills Attentive to detail and accuracy Cooperative and willing to assist others.
