Department 36317 Advocate Trinity Hospital - CT Status Full time Benefits Eligible Yes Hours Per Week 40 Schedule Details / Additional Information 3:00PM-11:30PM, every other weekend Pay Range $35.50 - $53.25 Major Responsibilities Perform Computed Tomography procedures utilizing General Electric Revolution, Lightspeed, Brightspeed, and HD750 Computerized Tomography Systems according to established operating procedures, clinical protocols, and imaging techniques. Perform computerized post-processing of images using reconstruction software appropriate to the pathology or region of interest under investigation. Address minor customer complaints, tactfully resolving issues and referring difficult or sensitive concerns to higher authority. Coordinate scheduling of inpatients and outpatients to ensure efficient utilization of CT equipment and personnel. Perform Quality Assurance Tests on CT equipment to ensure optimal image quality and equipment performance. Maintain equipment safety by performing daily tube warm‑up and calibrations on CT scanners. Communicate equipment issues or concerns to appropriate personnel and/or submit ILinq issues directly to GE service. Maintain appropriate cleanliness of diagnostic and support equipment. Obtain patient history and other relevant clinical information; document all patient information on appropriate forms in preparation for review and dictation by a radiologist. Charge patient examinations and prepare images and clinical information for interpretation by a radiologist. Start IVs using appropriate technique, prepare and administer contrast material, and monitor patient condition during the CT procedure. Maintain appropriate inventory levels of medical supplies. Initiate requests for emergency medical support as indicated by patient condition, including Code Blue and Respiratory Distress. Education / Experience Required 12-24 months experience in radiology. Graduate of a Radiologic Technology program. 2 hours of stroke education per year. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required Knowledge and understanding of cross‑sectional anatomy and CT procedures. Ability to perform all routine CT procedures. Good oral and written communication skills. Computer competence. ARRT Registry (RT). IDNS License. CPR certification. IV certification within 3 months of hire. CT registration within 1 year of hire. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Responder to requests to work on short notice. Flexible in starting times to meet demand. Ability to transport, move, and lift patients as required. May require rotating shifts and alternate days. Exposure to infectious diseases. Must take call. Willing to work overtime when requested. Musculoskeletal hazard from large amount of job lifting. Musculoskeletal hazard from repetitive motions. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance; use patient‑handling equipment and assistance for lifts over 35 pounds. Addendum 8 hours of stroke education per year. Attend educational seminars. Attend annual in‑services on fire safety, infection control, and radiation protection. Member of a professional organization to stay abreast of new developments. Above average organization and planning skills; must multi‑task. Excellent human‑relation skills on both a clinical and non‑clinical basis. Thorough understanding of confidentiality issues. Work under frequent stress. Function under established guidelines of policies and procedures manual, and physician and department standards.
