Structural Coordinator/EIT

HDR is hiring a Structural Engineering Coordinator/EIT to support a range of structural design projects across diverse sectors, located in Folsom or Walnut Creek, CA. Responsibilities Perform detailed structural design, analysis, engineering calculations, and develop construction documents under the oversight of a Professional Engineer. Write and edit structural specifications and reports. Verify code compliance, conduct quality checks, and meet project schedules and budget requirements. Work independently on small projects and assist senior engineers on larger projects. Perform small tasks in AutoCAD and/or Revit. Review shop drawings, RFIs, and provide engineering services during construction. Use finite element analysis software (e.g., RAM, ETABS, SAP2000) and hand calculations to perform work. Participate in project site visits with the Project Manager, Sr. Structural Engineer, and other disciplines. Perform all other duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate. Candidate without an EIT will have the title of “Coordinator” and will be expected to obtain an EIT. Master of Science (MS) Degree in Structural Engineering or related field, 3.5+ GPA. Previous structural design experience (internship or full‑time). Demonstrated knowledge of structural engineering software. Willingness to try new things and be forward‑thinking, innovative. Familiarity with CADD software such as AutoCAD, Revit or MicroStation. Ability to travel. Understanding of the finite element method and basic FEA. Team‑oriented, analytical, and organizational skills to support multiple projects simultaneously. Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to coordinate with other disciplines and CAD/BIM designers. Attention to accuracy, detail orientation, self‑directed learning, meeting deadlines, and multi‑tasking. Full‑time work in assigned office. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and structural software such as RISA, STAAD, SAP, Tedds, RAM, ETABS, SAFE.
