Join us.Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking an experienced AutoCAD Specialist in Charlotte, NC, Greenville, SC, Columbia, SC, or Charleston, SC. As a CAD Specialist with growing technical expertise and experience in demanding design driven projects, you will work with interdisciplinary teams on Advanced Manufacturing & Logistics Projects in a Programmatic approach. Job Summary/Responsibilities The focus of the AutoCAD Specialist will be on the civil aspects of the design including grading, drainage, and utilities for projects in the Advanced Manufacturing and Logistics market, such as logistics centers and industrial facilities which are designed by our Regional Carolinas B+P group. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:Performs both routine and non-routine, drafting assignments, scale and edit assignments involving the use of computer-aided design and drafting equipment and other graphics software (e.g. CADD software) to achieve set results and deadlinesCAD drafting and design for infrastructure projects (ports, civil, rail)Drafting and design for various projects involving civil, buildings, earthworks, utilities, stormwater, rail and/or roadwaysDigitize or trace sketches or concepts from Designers using CADD software (AutoCAD)Assists with creating and modifying 3D models, renderings and/or animations for promotion and proposalsPerform complex assignments involving the use of multiple application platforms and complex systems including Revit software to achieve set results and deadlinesOwnership of moderately difficult design tasks with minimal supervisionCoordination with other technicians and related disciplines to produce design deliverablesLeading development of drawing packages for a coherent functional set of plansPreparing design submissions and other technical documentsEnsure that design drawings are compliant with the suggested dataAssistance to Senior Engineers and Designers as and when neededQualificationsMinimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education2 years of civil CAD ExperienceExperience with AutoCAD Civil 3DExperience taking engineering specifications and inputting into engineering drawingsExperience with infrastructure projects, utility profiles, and cross-sectionsExperience with assembling, managing, and manipulating large site surface modelsPreferred Qualifications:Experience working with Civil Site projects on master planning, conceptual design drawings, construction drawings, and engineering detail drawingsExperience with RevitDesire to be mentored by leadership and provide mentorship to junior staffDetail-oriented and technical, yet experienced enough to see the big pictureStrong attention to detail and accuracy of work with a innate desire for follow-throughAbility to work independently and with large groups of technical minded people with minimal oversightAbility to apply passion and enthusiasm for design in a collaborative and progressive team-oriented work environmentAdditional InformationRelocation assistance is not available.Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.At AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
