Job Description

Ultimate Staffing is seeking an Industrial Engineer to join a client in Fort Worth. This is a full-time, direct hire position.


The Industrial Engineer is responsible for improving the operational performance of assigned manufacturing areas, with a focus on safety, quality, productivity, cost, capacity, and on-time delivery. This role applies industrial engineering methods, Lean Manufacturing principles, statistical analysis, and structured problem-solving techniques to eliminate waste, optimize manufacturing processes, and improve overall operational efficiency.

Working cross-functionally with Production, Quality, Engineering, Test, and other operational teams, the Industrial Engineer supports new product introduction, process optimization, capacity planning, cost reduction, equipment and tooling improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.
Key Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing processes, workflows, labor utilization, equipment utilization, and production performance to identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, throughput, capacity, and cost.
• Develop and implement process improvements using Industrial Engineering, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Create and maintain process maps, workflows, production layouts, and standardized manufacturing methods to improve operational efficiency.
• Identify manufacturing waste, bottlenecks, capacity constraints, and process inefficiencies and develop solutions to improve overall production flow.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities to ensure manufacturing readiness, including process development, production flow, tooling, equipment, test requirements, and documentation.
• Provide engineering oversight for manufacturing operations to ensure engineering documentation and manufacturing methods are aligned.
• Analyze product, process, and material-handling issues; perform root cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Assess equipment and process capability through Design of Experiments (DOE), statistical analysis, process capability studies, and other data-driven methods.
• Optimize equipment and manufacturing processes to maximize resource utilization, throughput, capacity, and quality while minimizing cost and waste.
• Develop and implement manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, equipment, and industrialization methods to support existing and new products.
• Conduct capacity and process assessments to support production requirements and future growth.
• Identify, develop, and implement cost-reduction and productivity-improvement projects to meet or exceed departmental and plant objectives.
• Support manufacturing automation initiatives, including equipment interfaces and PLC/HMI applications, as applicable.
• Support performance validation and qualification activities associated with the introduction of new manufacturing and production test processes.
• Provide technical guidance and training to Assembly, Test, and Production personnel regarding manufacturing processes and standardized methods.
• Manage assigned engineering and continuous improvement projects, including project plans, schedules, deliverables, resources, risks, and stakeholder communication.
• Manage assigned capital and expense projects, including budget planning and expenditure tracking.
• Partner with Environmental, Health, and Safety teams to identify and implement improvements that support a Zero Incident Safety Culture.
• Lead cross-functional teams in resolving complex manufacturing issues affecting product quality, cost, delivery, efficiency, or production performance.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing safer, simpler, more efficient, and more cost-effective manufacturing methods.

Qualifications
Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline preferred.
• 1 to 3 years of experience in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, Continuous Improvement, or a related manufacturing role.
• Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing processes, production flow, process optimization, and manufacturing systems.
• Experience with process mapping and workflow analysis in manufacturing, assembly, test, service, or repair operations.
• Experience applying Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, or continuous improvement principles in a production environment.
• Ability to work occasional overtime to support production requirements, projects, equipment installations, or other business needs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with time studies, capacity analysis, line balancing, labor optimization, or production layout development.
• Knowledge of Design of Experiments (DOE), statistical analysis, process capability, and structured root cause analysis.
• Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and production industrialization.
• Experience developing or implementing manufacturing tooling, fixtures, equipment, or automation.
• Experience with PLC and HMI programming or equipment interfaces.
• Experience supporting capital equipment, productivity improvement, or manufacturing cost-reduction projects.
• Familiarity with manufacturing performance metrics such as OEE, cycle time, takt time, throughput, yield, utilization, and capacity.
