Registered Nurse (RN) ICU

Overview Position: Registered Nurse – ICU (Step‑Down). Location: Charlottesville, VA. Shift: Night (12‑hour, full time). Sign‑on bonus up to $20,000 available for qualified candidates. ICU/Step‑Down unit: 15 ICU beds and 5 IMCU beds, private rooms equipped with advanced monitoring. Patient population includes neurology, cardiology, gastroenterology, oncology, nephrology, surgical, and palliative care cases. Responsibilities Provide competent nursing care using the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Maintain standards of professional performance: ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence‑based practice, quality evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health. Coordinate care within interdisciplinary rounds, collaborating with critical‑care NP/PA and other team members to add insight to patient care. Document care and facilitate teaching and health promotion for patients and families. Qualifications Education: Registered Nursing Diploma or Degree (required); Bachelor of Science Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science Nursing (MSN) preferred. Licensure: Registered Nursing license (required). Certification: BLS within 90 days of hire; ACLS within 90 days of hire (preferred); NIH certification within 6 months of hire (required). Experience: 2 years acute‑care experience preferred; 18 months critical‑care experience preferred; ICU or Capstone experience preferred.
