Production Supervisor

Club Car boasts a 60+ year history of industry-leading innovation and design, initially focused on golf cars and then expanding to commercial utility vehicles and personal-use transportation.GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Production Supervisor leads and coordinates daily operation of the production shift, with responsibility for achieving maximum quality and cost effectiveness in an on-time and efficient manner. He/she actively participates in all areas of employment, performance evaluations, associate relations, and associate development while promoting total employee involvement. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESEnsure a safe workplace is provided for all employees;frequentlyinspectsdepartmentfor safety compliance. Complete accident reports. Scheduleappropriate follow-upreviews;identifyaccidents related to operator/machineerrorandinitiatenecessary training to prevent future accidents. Supervise the activities of production associates to achieve objectiveswith regard toquality,costand time. Evaluate the performance of associates andcompletesnecessary reports. Recommend merit increases and training/development needs. Review daily and weekly shipping schedules and production capabilities toassureall deadlines are met. Check running orders/query dispatch lists todetermineschedule priorities. Coordinate andexpeditehot parts and assign rework. Inspect andmonitorproduction quality and equipment. Ensure quality procedures/practices are applied to the process, tooling, and equipment to achieve expected quality improvements. Supervise the use of materials toassurean appropriate numberof parts are available tomaintainsmooth production flow;identifywasteful practices and methods; report any problems/concerns withviablesolutions to the Manager, Production; and report suggestions recommended by associates for procedure change, etc. Promote and support the company's efforts in associate engagement, and "open door" communications through the developmentand orimplementation of various programs. Promote commitment to quality through attitude, behavior,communicationand implementation of programs and activities. Communicate shift management of daily problems and concerns, identifying areas needing attention to ensure the continuity of the operation.OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESMaintainssafeand productive work environment by assuring the work area is clear of tools, brooms, debris, and other items that may present a hazard.Will berequiredto perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOBEducation:HighSchoolDiploma/Equivalentrequiredexperience.Advanced degree or other training preferredExperience: 5+years of production leadership experience is preferred Previouswork experience in manufacturing as a supervisor or Group Leader isrequiredLean Manufacturing orSix Sigma experience a plusKEY COMPETENCIESKnowledge of computer programs such as Outlook, Excel, Word, etc. and timekeeping software such as ADP’seTimeor Kronos. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.Ability to enhance a team environment, includingdevelopmentof team-oriented leaders and members. Mustpossessclearthought process of defining problems, collecting data,establishingfacts, and drawing valid conclusions using Lean/Operational Excellence/continuous improvement methodologies. Able to train and develop talent and build bench strength. Able to maketimelydecisions in stressful situations. Demonstrated ability to work with all levels of management. Good understanding of consumer products, high volume lean manufacturing, andstate-of-the-artmanufacturing processes. An understanding of General Manufacturing best practices, fabrication operations and equipmentarerequired.   Exceptional leadership, motivational, and project management skills with the ability to drive issues and goals to closure. Ability to integrate business, manufacturing, and technical elements. Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of internal company and external associates, both written and orally, including the telephone.  PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSRequires occasionallifting of objectsof objects 25 to 50 pounds.Work requires periodicstooping/bendingand frequent walking/standing.Work involves activities that require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, or vehicles.While performing the duties of this job, the employeeis regularly required totalk or listen. This position may berequiredto stand, walk, sit, use hands to feel; reach with hand and arms, and stoop, kneel or crouch as needed.
