Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 10/05/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Summary Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position located in a healthcare facility. This role involves managing critically ill patients with diagnoses such as congestive heart failure, diabetic ketoacidosis, respiratory failure, metabolic acidosis, renal failure, and encephalopathy. The nurse will work in a 16-bed ICU on night shifts, providing advanced patient care with a focus on ventilator management, drip titrations, and response to acute patient needs. Job Details Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Required Qualifications: Valid ACLS and BLS certifications (American Heart Association), a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience including ventilator management, drip management, and DKA management. Experience with cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation medications is required. Preferred Qualifications: CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy) and IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumping) training are preferred but not mandatory. Float: Float rotation may be required. Additional Information: The ICU is staffed with hospitalists and intensivists available 24/7, including nurse practitioners and attending physicians. RNs are responsible for troubleshooting ventilators, BiPAP, Airvo, and other respiratory modalities, as well as monitoring patients via central monitors. The unit allows self-scheduling, with six weekend shifts every six weeks. There is a need to work one major and one minor holiday during spring and fall. The dress code is royal blue scrubs, and orientation consists of two shifts. The charting system used is EPIC. Licensing & Certification: Valid license to submit and certification in ACLS and BLS are required. No BSN is specifically required.
