Forklift Driver, Slip Sheet

DSV, a global transport and logistics leader, is hiring a Forklift Driver – Slip Sheet in Carteret, USA. The role is full‑time and requires safe, efficient operation of industrial forklifts for receiving, staging, and shipping warehouse operations. Position Summary The forklift operator is responsible for operating reach power industrial trucks to move, locate, stack, and count merchandise while ensuring safety, security, and productivity standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Receiving / Put‑Away Input data accurately into WMS. Efficiently stack and store product in appropriate area. Maintain an organized work area. Order Picking Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring correct quantity and type. Perform picking duties efficiently to meet customer service standards. Prepare freight for operations accurately and timely. Quality Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Report quality variances. Support 4C initiatives: Customer Satisfaction, Lean & Safe Work Environment, complete Risk Prevention, Continuous Improvement, and 5S. Delivery Move product from staging or storage to production lines or staging docks efficiently. Ensure proper documentation accompanies freight. Inventory Maintain accurate records and reports to ensure tight inventory control and security. Assist in physical inventories. Ensure proper stock rotation through normal daily work. Safety, Housekeeping, and Compliance Keep facility, work area, and equipment clean and orderly. Comply with SOPs, corporate and site‑specific policies, safety rules, and OSHA/MSDS standards. Perform all work in a safe manner. Equipment Operation Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product from elevated racking using forklift, reach forklift, or other power equipment. Inspect and report equipment issues daily. Operate all equipment safely and efficiently following prescribed methods, including daily OSHA safety checklist inspections. Maintain active forklift certification. Assist with correcting pallets improperly stored at elevation and correcting unsafe or tipped pallets. Maintenance Perform or assist with building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned. Other Duties (Site Specific) Participate in physical inventories as assigned. Perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and repacking as assigned. Change fuel tanks on forklifts as assigned. Repair pallets, trailers, and truck bays as necessary. Perform other duties as assigned. Work overtime as dictated by business, whether mandatory or voluntary. Supervisor Responsibilities None. Minimum Required Qualifications Education and Experience High school diploma or GED. At least 6 months experience in logistics or distribution. Demonstrated ability to operate Slip‑Sheet forklift machine. Comfortable working in unregulated temperatures within warehouse (mild to moderate). Certificates and Licenses Completion of a forklift training program. Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Basic computer skills: RF scanner and WMS functions. English reading, writing, and verbal. Mathematical skills for verifying quantities and inventory. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and timely completion of tasks. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Adaptability to change in a fast- paced environment. Preferred Qualifications 1–2 years of experience in a warehouse/logistics/distribution environment. 1–2 years proven forklift experience. 1–2 years proven standing reach lift experience. 1–2 years Slip‑Sheet machine experience. Current or prior MHE certification. Ability to operate Electric Pallet Jack and Dock Loader (Pacer) as needed. Physical Demands Occasionally handle/fingering and sit; frequently bend; constantly walk and stand; lift/carry and push/pull 21–50 pounds; reach above shoulder, reach outward, squat or kneel. Compensation The expected base pay is $23.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined by job‑related factors such as experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location in accordance with applicable laws.
