Join our team as a Licensed Practical Nurse Float Pool where you will provide compassionate care to patients alongside a dedicated team of Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs). You will play a crucial role in assessing patient needs, administering treatments, and ensuring patient comfort and safety. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment focused on delivering high-quality patient care.

Established in 1976, Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital has provided quality healthcare to area residents for over 40 years. LCRH is a 295-bed acute care facility, providing healthcare services for an 11-county service area in south central Kentucky.

How you'll contribute

  • As supervised and delegated by a Registered Nurse, it provides direct patient care in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN.
  • Performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care; may administer medication.
  • Documents patient care provided.
  • Assists RN with development of plan of care.
  • Assist patients with daily living activities including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Monitors, documents, and communicate patient status and responses to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and family.
  • Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
  • Participate in performance improvement and continuing education.
  • Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts/units as needed.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Patient Populations Served: Adolescent, Young Adult, Middle Adult, Older Adult.
  • Protected Health Information Accessed: Demographic, Clinical, Insurance, Financial, Complete Medical Record.
  • Exposure: Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is present for all employees.
  • Physical Requirements: Frequent standing, walking, lifting/moving patients, and repetitive hand/arm movements. Regular exposure to biological and chemical hazards, including blood and bodily fluids, hazardous medications, and latex.

What we are looking for:

Education:

  • Graduate of accredited LPN program.

License: /Certifications:

  • Current LPN license in state of practice.
  • 1- 2 years minimum bedside RN experience required
  • BCLS required; Handle with Care preferred.
