Job Description

As a Maintenance Technician at Steel Technologies, your main responsibility is to continue to improve our safety, quality, and efficiency. How? By performing preventative, routine, and emergency mechanical and/or electrical maintenance and providing effective troubleshooting, you are a huge part in ensuring operations is always running effectively.

How you'll contribute to our company:

Preventative Maintenance

• Perform routine maintenance to all plant machinery
• Carry out the preventative maintenance program for the plant
• Ability to accept and control maintenance operations and communicate non-compliance problems to supervisor for instruction
• Identify and address safety concerns throughout the facility
• Maintain general housekeeping and organization of maintenance department and all equipment repair work areas

Minimize Downtime

• Continuously review the operation of plant equipment and systems
• Anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner
• Identify opportunities for improvement

Effective Troubleshooting

• Must have knowledge and ability to troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs through a quick and effective root cause analogy
• Ability to accurately fill out documentation on work orders
• Ability to perform emergency maintenance repairs to all plant machinery

Knowledge & Understanding

• Knowledge of motor control systems, hydraulic systems, fire protection, and mechanical bearing systems
• Knowledge of equipment installation
• Ability to interpret blueprints to properly fabricate parts and equipment
