Nutrition Services Cashier Middle School - 5 Hours/Day

Cashier

To perform the duties of the cashier accurately and efficiently.

Essential Duties & Functions (but not limited to):

• Collects meal and ala carte money from students and staff and enters pre-payments into their respective accounts.
• Keeps daily records of all aspects of customers' accounts.
• Performs daily edits of all meal transactions and makes corrections, as needed.
• Answers all questions from parents, students, or staff regarding meals and their meal accounts.
• Acts as a liaison between the Food Service Department and parents, keeping them aware of student's outstanding balances.
• Follows prescribed procedures to protect the anonymity of students and their socio-economic status.
• Prepares required daily and monthly reports. Counts money received and prepares bank deposit daily.
• Works cooperatively with other kitchen staff under the direction of the Cook/Manager.
• Cooperates with the Building Principal in fulfilling the requirements of the Food Service Program.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Promotes and maintains good public relations with students, parents, and building staff.
• Participate in appropriate professional activities.
• Must have the ability and proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
• Perform such other duties as are assigned by the Food Service Director or authorized representatives of the Board of Education.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma

Working Conditions: Primarily climate controlled work space. Warmer/colder temperatures in other areas.

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
