Make a meaningful impact in a school-based setting by providing specialized support to a kindergarten student with unique needs. This contract Occupational Therapy opportunity offers exceptional flexibility, requiring only 45 minutes per week—and you have the freedom to schedule sessions at your convenience between 9:30 AM and 2:45 PM.

You’ll work one-on-one with a nonverbal, developmentally delayed student who uses an AAC device for communication, is on the autism spectrum, and currently accesses learning in a self-contained classroom. Your clinical expertise and compassion will support their development, safety, and engagement in daily school activities.

Qualifications:

• Licensed Occupational Therapist with experience in school or pediatric settings.
• Skilled in supporting students with autism spectrum disorder, nonverbal communication, and behavioral needs.
• Comfortable working with AAC devices and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams (teachers, paraprofessionals, and other therapists).
• Ability to implement creative, developmentally appropriate strategies.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough OT assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Deliver direct OT services focused on sensory integration, daily living skills, and safe participation in the school environment.
• Consult and collaborate with school staff and the student’s support team to promote generalization of skills.
• Monitor progress, document interventions, and adjust plans as needed to best support student growth.
• Support the student in safe, positive engagement and help manage self-harm behaviors using evidence-based practices.
