Executive Vice President, Global Engineering [Remote]

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Executive Vice President, Global Engineering based in the United States.

The Executive Vice President, Global Engineering will serve as the organization’s highest-ranking engineering leader, responsible for shaping the technology vision and execution strategy across a global engineering ecosystem.
This executive role will lead software engineering, infrastructure, quality assurance, and platform modernization initiatives at significant scale.
The position is focused on driving an AI-powered transformation of engineering practices, accelerating legacy modernization, and building a future-ready technology organization.
The successful candidate will combine deep technical expertise with strategic leadership, guiding architecture decisions, operational excellence, and engineering culture evolution.
Working closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams, this role will influence product direction, customer outcomes, and long-term business growth.

Accountabilities:

The Executive Vice President, Global Engineering will own the global engineering strategy and execution roadmap, leading teams through large-scale modernization, AI adoption, and operational transformation. The role requires a hands-on executive who can balance technical depth, organizational leadership, and business priorities.

• Lead the global engineering organization, including software engineering, quality assurance, DevOps, and infrastructure teams across multiple regions.
• Define and execute a multi-year technology strategy aligned with business objectives, product growth, scalability, and customer needs.
• Drive the adoption of agentic AI development practices across the software lifecycle, including development, testing, documentation, deployment, and monitoring.
• Lead AI-assisted modernization initiatives, including reverse engineering legacy systems, generating technical documentation, creating behavioral test suites, and accelerating platform migration.
• Oversee the continued evolution of a cloud-native technology platform while managing consolidation and retirement of legacy systems.
• Make critical architecture decisions around platform design, shared services, scalability, security, compliance, and multi-tenant environments.
• Lead major cloud infrastructure consolidation efforts, including migration planning, execution, cost optimization, and operational improvements.
• Transform quality assurance and release processes by implementing automation, CI/CD practices, continuous testing, and rapid delivery frameworks.
• Establish engineering metrics, KPIs, and operational processes to improve productivity, delivery predictability, quality, and accountability.
• Build and develop a high-performing global engineering organization through talent development, leadership enhancement, and organizational design.
• Optimize global engineering operations, including collaboration models across regions, resource allocation, and vendor management.
• Partner with product, sales, customer success, and executive teams to align technology execution with business priorities.
• Represent the technology organization in customer engagements, strategic discussions, and business development activities.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a visionary engineering executive with extensive experience leading global technology organizations, modernizing complex platforms, and implementing AI-driven engineering transformations.

• 15+ years of progressive software engineering experience within technology, SaaS, cybersecurity, payments, or related industries.
• 8+ years of senior engineering leadership experience in roles such as VP of Engineering, SVP of Engineering, CTO, or equivalent operating positions.
• Proven experience personally using modern AI development tools and agentic AI workflows in production engineering environments.
• Demonstrated success applying AI to legacy system modernization, including code analysis, documentation generation, testing automation, and migration acceleration.
• Experience leading engineering organizations of 150+ engineers across multiple geographies, including significant leadership experience with India-based engineering teams.
• Strong track record managing global operating models across US, Europe, India, and other international locations.
• Extensive experience with large-scale architecture modernization, cloud-native platforms, microservices, and complex technology transformations.
• Proven leadership of cloud migration and consolidation initiatives, preferably involving Google Cloud Platform or similar enterprise cloud environments.
• Deep understanding of agile methodologies and experience transforming engineering organizations toward modern delivery practices.
• Experience building engineering metrics frameworks and using data-driven insights to improve organizational performance.
• Demonstrated ability to restructure teams, develop leaders, improve accountability, and create high-performing engineering cultures.
• Strong executive communication skills with the ability to engage customers, senior leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline required; advanced degrees preferred.
• Experience in cybersecurity, compliance, financial technology, high-volume data platforms, private equity environments, M&A integration, or platform consolidation is strongly preferred.
