Location: Gadsden, AL
Salary Range: $22.00-$26.00 + commission (salary based on experience)

Job Summary

Childress Heating & Cooling is hiring a full-time HVAC Service Technician with experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heating and cooling systems. This role is ideal for a skilled technician looking for consistent work, competitive pay, and growth opportunities in a stable HVAC company.

Key Responsibilities

Perform HVAC service, repair, and maintenance on residential systems including air conditioners, furnaces, and heat pumps
Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system issues , including electrical and mechanical failures
Complete preventative maintenance inspections and tune-ups
Provide customers with clear explanations of repairs and recommended solutions
Ensure all work complies with HVAC safety standards and local codes
Accurately document service calls, repairs, and parts used
Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment

Required Qualifications

2+ years of experience as an HVAC Service Technician, HVAC Installer, or HVAC Mechanic
EPA Certification required
Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, troubleshooting, and diagnostics
Valid driver's license with clean driving record
Ability to work independently in a field service environment
Strong customer service and communication skills

Preferred Skills

Experience with residential and light commercial HVAC systems
Knowledge of heat pumps, AC systems, furnaces, and indoor air quality equipment
Experience using HVAC diagnostic tools and service software
