Job Description

The Maintenance Mechanic performs routine and preventive maintenance on production machinery and equipment in an automotive manufacturing environment. This role focuses on diagnosing and repairing mechanical, low-voltage electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues, supporting equipment installations, and maintaining accurate maintenance records. The position also involves using and improving a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to optimize maintenance processes and minimize equipment downtime.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and reduce the risk of unexpected breakdowns.

• Develop and follow preventive maintenance schedules to extend equipment lifespan and maintain consistent production quality.

• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues, including problems with gearboxes, bearings, pumps, motors, cylinders, and chain-driven conveyors.

• Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems, including cylinders and related components.

• Perform low-voltage (24V) electrical troubleshooting and repairs in accordance with safety procedures.

• Support the installation and setup of new machinery and equipment, ensuring proper operation and adherence to safety standards.

• Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance in compliance with auditing standards.

• Navigate, maintain, and improve CMMS processes to document work orders, track maintenance history, and support continuous improvement.

• Perform welding tasks as needed to support equipment repair and maintenance.

• Follow all established safety precautions and procedures while working on mechanical and electrical systems.

• Collaborate with production and other maintenance team members to minimize downtime and support efficient manufacturing operations.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $60320.00/yr.
