Detention DeputyThe Valley County Sheriff's Office is recruiting for a Detention Deputy to perform important work in the safekeeping of detainees in the custody of the Sheriff at the county detention facility in Cascade. We are looking for a career-minded individual who is interested in assisting in the protection of the citizens of Valley County through the secure, efficient, and professional supervision of detainees.This is a full-time position with full employee benefits.Typical responsibilities include receiving and processing new arrivals to the detention facility, housing and supervising detainees in a safe and orderly environment, conducting security checks and other related activities, transporting and escorting detainees, and performing other related work.This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in a long-term career. As this is a law enforcement position, applicants will be required to undergo a stringent background screening including an in-depth review of their criminal and employment histories, as well as complete and pass a physical and a drug test.Detention Deputies are law enforcement officers in a public safety role, and as such, certification through the Idaho Peace Officer Standards & Training (POST) Academy will be required within one year of hire.
