Key Responsibilities Operate heavy equipment to perform digging, trenching, backfilling, grading, excavation, and material-handling tasks. Excavate trenches for utilities, foundations, and underground systems according to blueprints, plans, and site specifications. Safely operate equipment while maintaining awareness of surrounding personnel, structures, and other equipment. Coordinate with site supervisors, foremen, and other trades to ensure excavation and equipment operations meet project requirements. Conduct daily pre-operation inspections and report equipment issues or safety concerns. Perform basic routine maintenance and ensure equipment remains in safe operating condition. Follow all project safety procedures, OSHA regulations, and company policies. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Assist the ground crew with construction activities when not operating equipment. Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding site conditions, hazards, equipment concerns, and project progress. Perform other construction-related duties as assigned. Key Requirements: Minimum 2 years of heavy equipment operating experience on commercial or industrial construction projects. Experience operating any of these types of equipment,: Skid Steer Forklift Floor Scrubber Backhoe Dump Truck water truck haul truck Strong knowledge of excavation, grading, and earthmoving practices. Knowledge of soil types, trench safety, and excavation best practices. Must have a valid government-issued ID. Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a construction team.
