Travel RN - Cath Lab/EP

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab/EP RN for a Post Intervention Cath Unit requiring AL state or compact RN licensure and prior cardiac step-down experience.

Job Details

• Post Intervention Cath Unit serving as a step-down from the Cath Lab and overflow from Med-Surg,
• 1:4 patient ratio,
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM),
• Every other weekend required,

Job Requirements

• Active RN license (AL State or Compact),
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA),
• Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience required,
• Community hospital experience required,
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred,
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred,
• Experience with sheath removal, TR band, and pre/post cardiac catheterization care preferred,
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs required,
• Experience with central line, peripheral line, PICC line care, and blood product administration preferred,
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration) required,
• Knowledge of heparin protocols required,
• Experience with pacemakers (temporary/permanent) preferred,
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias preferred,
• Experience with rapid response/code teams preferred,
• Wound care/wound vac experience preferred,
• Proper use of isolation precautions/PPE preferred,

Additional Information

• Provide cardiac monitoring and step-down level care for post-intervention cath patients,
• Support post cardiac angiogram, post-MI, and post-cardiac surgery patients,
• Assist with cardiac drip management and dysrhythmia monitoring,
• Requested time off limited to a maximum of 7 days,
• Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted at a lower pay rate,
• Prior permanent employees of the facility are not eligible for this travel position,
