CT TechnologistJob Title: CT TechnologistProfession: Diagnostic Imaging Specialty: CT TechnologistDuration: 13 WeeksShift: 4 - 9-hour night shifts; Weekend, On-Call and Holiday Rotation RequiredHours per Shift: 9Experience: Minimum 2 years of CT experience requiredLicense: ARRT Radiography registration requiredCertifications: ARRT Computed Tomography registration required, IEMA-DNS radiography accreditation required, Approved CPR or BLS certification requiredMust-Have: Education Verification required, Graduate of an accredited radiography programDescription: Performs computed tomography procedures and related techniques. Administers x-radiation to produce diagnostic images for physician interpretation. May be required to alternate shifts, weekends, holidays, and take call. May be asked to flex hours as necessary to provide quality patient care. Performs diagnostic CT procedures. If assigned radiographer duties, also performs radiographic, fluoroscopic, surgical, and portable radiographic exams. Corroborates patient's clinical history with procedure, ensuring information is documented and available for use by the radiologist. Prepares the patient for procedures, providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety. Selects and operates imaging equipment, image capture devices, and accessories to successfully perform procedures. Positions patient to best demonstrate anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort; immobilizes patient as necessary. Practices aseptic technique as necessary. Prepares and administers contrast media as appropriate to procedures performed; starts and maintains intravenous access. Initiates basic life support action when necessary. Provides patient education. Provides input for supply and equipment decisions, maintains control of inventory and supplies. Provides practical instruction for students and partners. Observes universal protocol, standard precautions, and appropriate patient identifiers.
