She/he is also responsible for the direction of personnel assigned to her/him. Coordinates patient care with other health team members. Maintains confidentiality of all hospital matters. Demonstrates responsibility & accountability for adherence to organizational and department values and standards. Completes all required competencies. Completes required ongoing hospital-wide competencies in the time allowed. Completes required department competencies in the time allowed. Has no incomplete action plans related to required competencies. Competency verification records are complete. Supports staffing/scheduling needs of the department. Works weekends and holidays as scheduled. Initiates individualized care plan on admission. Carries out physician orders. Collaborates with other health team members to coordinate medical and nursing management of patients. Instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions. Actively participates in direct delivery of safe patient care and maintains a safe comfortable environment for patients. Utilizes computer for order entry, to access pertinent patient information and for internal e-mail applications. Demonstrates self-directed and self-motivated initiative.
