Emergency Department Registered Nurse

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse provides critical care to patients in a fast-paced environment. The role involves managing patient care for individuals of all age ranges from infants to geriatrics. Nurses will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for patients with various diagnoses. Patient ratios may reach up to 1:4, with potential increases to 1:5 under lower acuity circumstances. Candidates are expected to have experience across a broad spectrum of emergency medical situations. Certification in BLS, ACLS, and PALS is mandatory. Nurses will perform various procedures, including intubation, central line management, and blood product administration. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend, as well as holidays as scheduled. Floating within the emergency department and sister facilities may be needed based on departmental requirements. Candidates should be proficient in using charting systems, particularly Epic, and possess excellent clinical judgment. All candidates must adhere to compliance protocols and maintain required certifications throughout their employment.
