Speech Language Pathologist - Long Term Care
This is a 13-week contract position.
Shift: 7AM - 3:30PM
The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) will provide comprehensive evaluation and therapeutic services for patients in a long-term care setting. The SLP will work closely with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team members to support communication and swallowing needs.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations and assessments of patients' speech and language abilities.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve patients' communication and swallowing capabilities.
- Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure effective care coordination.
- Document patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Provide guidance and support to patients and their families regarding communication strategies.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:
- Graduate of an accredited college/university program in Speech Language Pathology.
- Current New York State license as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Eligibility for or possession of the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Experience in long-term care settings is mandatory.
- Proficient with MS Office and Epic/EMR software.
