Key Responsibilities

• Lead with Excellence: Oversee and inspire a team of surgical nurses and staff, providing mentorship, training, and performance evaluations to drive exceptional patient care.
• Champion Patient Care: Ensure our patients receive the highest standard of care, from pre-operative preparation to post-operative recovery. Address patient needs and concerns with compassion and efficiency.
• Optimize Operations: Manage daily surgical department operations, including scheduling, resource allocation, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
• Drive Quality Improvement: Spearhead initiatives to enhance surgical services, continuously utilizing data and feedback to improve patient outcomes and departmental performance.
• Ensure Compliance: Maintain rigorous standards for regulatory compliance, infection control, and safety protocols.
• Foster Collaboration: Partner with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to streamline processes and enhance patient care.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred. BSN will be required within 3 years of employment.
• Experience: 3-5 years of recent acute care leadership experience within unit is required.
• Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas; Certification in Surgical Services (CNOR Specialty Certification) is a plus.
• Certification: Current BCLS certification is required. Current ACLS certification is required.
• Skills: Proven leadership, exceptional organizational skills, and a deep understanding of surgical technologies are essential. Proficiency in EHR systems is also necessary.
