Job Title: Quality Technician Job Description

This role supports manufacturing and assembly operations by inspecting mechanical assemblies, welded frames, and pressure-tested systems to ensure all products meet engineering specifications and quality standards. The Quality Technician collaborates closely with engineering and production teams to identify defects, document findings, and support effective corrective actions that maintain consistent product quality.

Responsibilities

• Inspect mechanical assemblies, welded frames, and pressure-tested systems to verify conformance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, including Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) callouts, to perform accurate inspections.
• Conduct mechanical assembly inspections, including verification of torque wrench application and fastener integrity.
• Perform inspections of weldments and assess basic weld quality in alignment with established criteria and applicable standards.
• Assist with hydrostatic and pressure testing procedures, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and documentation requirements.
• Use measurement tools such as tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify dimensions and tolerances.
• Document inspection results accurately, including non-conformances, defects, and rework requirements, in accordance with quality procedures.
• Support non-conformance reporting and corrective action processes by providing clear, detailed inspection data and feedback.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to communicate quality issues, recommend improvements, and help drive corrective actions.
• Follow established quality control and quality assurance practices to support compliance with relevant standards and procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized inspection area and handle tools and equipment in a safe, controlled manner.
• Adhere to safety guidelines, including OSHA-related practices, while working on the manufacturing floor.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of experience in a quality, manufacturing, or inspection role.
• Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly inspection and torque wrench application.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T callouts, and assembly work instructions.
• Experience inspecting weldments and understanding basic weld quality criteria, such as AWS D1.1 or equivalent.
• Familiarity with hydrostatic or pressure testing procedures and associated safety protocols.
• Proficiency with basic measurement tools, including tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in documentation.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and work safely in a manufacturing floor environment.
• Basic computer proficiency, including use of Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of quality control and quality assurance principles in a manufacturing setting.
• Familiarity with mechanical systems and components such as piping, pumps, valves, compression fittings, and instrumentation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in a related field.
• Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) standards.
• Experience with chemical process equipment, including vessels, piping, pumps, valves, compression fittings, and instrumentation.
• Experience with non-conformance reporting and corrective action systems.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems.
• Understanding of OSHA-related safety practices in manufacturing environments.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.

Work Environment

The role is based on a manufacturing floor and production environment that requires frequent standing, bending, and walking throughout the day. Team members regularly handle and maneuver heavy assemblies and equipment, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in designated production and inspection areas, and work follows established safety protocols consistent with OSHA-related practices. The environment involves hands-on interaction with mechanical assemblies, welded structures, and pressure-tested systems, using measurement tools, inspection equipment, and standard office software to document and communicate quality results.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rockledge, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $29.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
