GCP BigQuery Data Engineer *HIRING ASAP* (W2 Only)

Description

The resource will develop and support a reusable analytics data framework using daily GA4 and Firebase BigQuery exports. Key responsibilities include writing and maintaining BigQuery SQL, Scheduled Queries, Routines (stored procedures/UDFs), and data pipelines to transform raw event-level export data into curated, analytics-ready data views. This includes building consistent event- and session-level models that can be used reliably by BI and analytics teams. Primary Responsibility: Assist with the ingestion, transformation, and evolution of data products within our BigQuery environment, working closely with the data engineering lead. Data Ingestion: Bring in data from diverse sources, including Google Analytics (GA4), Firebase, and SFTP servers, into BigQuery. Data Transformation: Take raw, nested JSON data from Google Analytics and Firebase and transform it into a standardized, workable event-level and session-level framework using BigQuery SQL. Data Modeling: Create and maintain curated, aggregated data views and materialized tables in BigQuery to be used by analysts and dashboard developers. Technical Skills: Must have strong SQL skills, with specific experience in handling nested data structures within BigQuery. Python skills are also essential for working with our Cloud Function-based data pipelines. Key Experience: Deep familiarity with the data schemas exported from Google Analytics (GA4) and Firebase is highly desired to allow the candidate to be effective from day one. Automation: Utilize scheduled queries, stored procedures, and other BigQuery features to automate data transformation and materialization processes. Collaboration: Work with business users to understand requirements, and with dashboard developers to provide them with the clean, curated data views they need for their analytics in tools like Power BI.

This is a Contract position based out of Piscataway, NJ.

The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $68.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
