Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations for pediatric, adult, and elderly patients employing standardized assessments and keen observational techniques.
  • Create tailored treatment strategies that focus on both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, and swallowing goals.
  • Deliver personalized speech therapy interventions aimed at enhancing communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing capabilities.
  • Team up with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to forge holistic care plans.
  • Provide education to patients and families, empowering them to continue their progress during moments away from therapy.
  • Occasionally engage in inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions, ensuring a seamless continuity of care.
  • Adhere to accurate documentation practices in line with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development through workshops and discussions with peers to stay at the forefront of the field.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology obtained from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if current ASHA certification is not yet achieved.

Required Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • ASHA's Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is necessitated within 30 days of onboarding.

  • Solid proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic approaches suitable for various age groups, combined with a nuanced understanding of speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Exceptional communication abilities with patients, their families, and collaborative care teams.
  • Capability to modify therapeutic techniques to meet the diverse cultural and linguistic needs of clients.
  • Strong clinical acumen and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Work familiarity with electronic medical records and rigorous documentation standards.
