HWI has a fantastic opportunity to join our Sales team as a Sales Representative II. The Sales Representative II solicits sales orders by visiting customers and assists customers in choosing the best refractory products for their particular application. The Sales Representative II provides technical assistance through the sales lifecycle from selection to installation of the product and is focused on obtaining the maximum amount of business with the best profit margin. The position is responsible for ongoing relationship development with customers.

Responsibilities include scheduling and making sales calls with new and established customers, end users, and contractors; initiating joint sales calls and jobsite visits with customers including troubleshooting problems; monitoring material inventories, DC business levels, handling complaints, assisting with collections, follow-up on orders and deliveries, and other miscellaneous activities; providing timely and accurate sales quotations and proving timely follow up to customer inquiries/complaints; performing business reporting, forecasting, and planning including CRM input; reviewing sales budgets and miscellaneous company data; and making sales and product presentations.

Requirements include a B.S. degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology or related fields, or equivalent practical field experience; general knowledge of refractories; computer operation skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel expertise; strong interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment; strong analytical skills and the ability to assemble and quickly analyze data; strong industry-specific knowledge coupled with the ability to manage supplier relationships; excellent organization skills with accurate and precise attention to detail; self-motivation with the ability to adapt quickly; and four plus (4+) years of refractory or industrial-based field experience with emphasis on sales and marketing.

Must be able to travel to provide support to customers.

Physical and Environmental Requirements include more than 2/3 of time standing, talking or hearing and less than 1/3 of time sitting, walking, using hands and fingers, reaching, climbing/balancing, stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling and tasting/smelling. Lifting: 50 pounds less than 1/3 of the time. Vision: Requires accurate close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception. Environment: Requires less than 1/3 of time working in an office setting, working near moving mechanical parts, working in high, precarious places, exposed to outdoor weather, wet/humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, vibration. Noise: Requires working in quiet conditions.
