Inpatient - Unit Clerk - 1st Shift - Part-Time

Inpatient Unit ClerkThis is a first shift position working 12 hour shifts in the inpatient unit with 12 hours per week. No weekend requirements. The position requires multi-tasking and the applicant can be cross-trained to other functions. This position is under the direction and supervision of the Director of Inpatient Services.QualificationsHigh school diploma or GEDPrior Unit Clerk experience desiredBasic knowledge of medical terminologyKey ResponsibilitiesResponsible for performing clerical and receptionist duties such as answering the phone and directing callsGreet and assist patients, families, and visitorsMaintain accurate and updated patient charts and electronic recordsCoordinate patient admissions, discharges, and transfers in the systemOrder and maintain unit supplies and equipment as directedCollaborate with nurses and healthcare providers to ensure smooth workflowMonitor and relay messages between physicians, nurses, and other departmentsAll other duties as assignedSkills and Abilities:Excellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong organizational and multitasking abilitiesAttention to detail and accuracyAbility to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environmentBasic data entry and computer skills Wayne HealthCare
