An experienced Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is needed to support students in 6th-12th grade who require intensive behavioral support, located in a retail-style facility near Antioch, TN. This contract position starts ASAP and will last through the end of the school year, with potential for extension or a permanent opportunity.
You’ll partner closely with the cooperative district, focusing on students whose behavioral needs exceed what the district traditionally offers, yet who don’t require a clinical setting. These older, physically large students demonstrate extreme behaviors, including frequent attempts to elope, engaging in crisis behaviors, self-injury, aggressive actions toward others, and incidents involving smearing. Many students benefit from 2:1 para support and are assisted by a team consisting of approximately 10 Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), several aides, and additional support staff.
This position emphasizes supporting and coaching the RBTs, training teachers, and providing consistent behavioral leadership to the group. Academic instruction is covered—you’ll focus on practical, function-based behavioral intervention, strategy development, and hands-on crisis planning. Chancelight’s model prioritizes a continuum of support rather than isolation, creating opportunities for real teamwork and meaningful student progress.
We’re seeking candidates who have:
- Current BCBA certification (not accepting RBTs or those seeking unrestricted hours)
- Experience with older students exhibiting significant behavioral challenges
- Proven ability to develop crisis plans and safely manage high-intensity behaviors
- Skills in supporting and training RBTs, paraprofessionals, and educators
- Leadership in team-based environments and strong communication abilities
