Medical Courier Driver (Evening, BOI 1099)

About Us Rocky Mountain Laboratories is a clinical laboratory providing comprehensive laboratory services. Position Rocky Mountain Laboratories is seeking two 1099 contractors for emergency courier coverage in the Boise/Treasure Valley area. These contractors will provide essential specimen retrieval, supply delivery, and transport of medical‑related materials to internal and external customers. Paid training will be provided. Contractors will have access to a company vehicle during their shift. Schedule: Guaranteed at least one shift every week, approximately 4‑5 hours, availability Monday through Saturday as needed. Shifts start between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM and end around either 9 PM or AM, depending on the assigned route. Responsibilities Ensure timely and accurate retrieval and delivery of medical specimens to designated destinations, adhering to established protocols. Conduct supply drops as needed to clients or internal locations. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the company vehicle, including regular inspections and reporting any maintenance issues. Adhere to all relevant safety regulations and guidelines while operating the vehicle and handling medical specimens. Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and other team members to coordinate pickups, deliveries, and special instructions. Handle specimens with care and attention to detail, ensuring proper labeling, packaging, and storage during transport. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing any concerns or inquiries from clients or recipients during pickups and deliveries. Assist with loading and unloading specimens, equipment, and supplies as needed, following proper lifting and handling procedures. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all pickups, deliveries, and related activities using company‑provided software or paperwork. Collaborate with colleagues to troubleshoot issues or challenges encountered during daily operations, contributing to a positive team environment. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Valid Driver's License. Computer proficiency. Personal liability auto insurance. Clean driving record. Active smartphone (Android or iPhone) with an adequate data plan. Flexibility to cover emergency routes. Previous medical courier experience preferred. Minimum of two years of related driving experience in previous roles. Comfortable navigating routing software and GPS. Attention to detail. Ability to follow instructions. Ability to operate a vehicle for long periods. License/Certification Valid Driver's License (Required) Work Location: Boise / Treasure Valley, Idaho, and surrounding areas Job Type: 1099 Contractor Pay: $22.00 per hour Benefits Paid training is provided.
